Yesterday, Women 4 STEM marked its 20th anniversary at Victorian Parliament House, bringing together government, industry, education leaders, volunteers and community advocates to reflect on two decades of progress and to launch the STEM Equity Report 2025. Founded in 2005 as a volunteer-led initiative, Women 4 STEM has grown into a trusted voice on gender equity across the STEM pipeline. Over 20 years, the organisation has engaged more than 29,000 participants, supported by more than 463,000 volunteer hours, contributing an estimated $20 million in community value. At Women4STEM, we know that change happens through collaboration, and our partnership with Photography Studies College (PSC) is a perfect example. PSC, a leader in photographic education, provides students with hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for professional careers. Through our collaboration, these students gain real-world experience capturing events, profiling STEM professionals, and documenting our advocacy work.

Since its founding in 2005, Women4STEM has been dedicated to advancing gender diversity in STEM and fostering a supportive community for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Now, in our 20th anniversary year, we reflect on the progress made and the challenges still ahead as we continue to push for greater inclusion and equity.
