ACM-W

ACM-W is the site for the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) committee on women in computing. It celebrates, informs and supports women in computing, and works with the ACM-W community of computer scientists, educators, employers and policy makers to improve working and learning environments for women.

WOMEN ARE IT (WIT)

“Women are I.T.” is an organisation providing a framework upon which women in Information Technology can extend their network and expand their knowledge in an environment that encourages open conversation and debate. We want to encourage women to choose I.T. as a career and raise the status of women in Australian business, in the I.T. industry in particular. Our mission statement outlines our aims, meetings, organisers and future plans.

FEMALES IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (FITT)

FITT is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and is also sponsored by Telstra. FITT is led by a voluntary Steering Committee of 16 women. FITT’s objectives are to:

• Encourage more women into the ICT industry
• Inspire women in the industry to achieve their personal aspirations and potential
• Assist women to broaden their understanding of the ICT industry
• Facilitate networking opportunities

AUSTRALIAN COMPUTER SOCIETY (ACS)

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is the recognised association for Information & Communications Technology (ICT) professionals, attracting a large and active membership from all levels of the ICT industry. A member of the Australian Council of Professions. Women 4 STEM members are eligible to attend ACS events at their member prices. View upcoming events.

AUSTRALIAN COUNCIL OF PROFESSIONS

The ACS is the public voice of the ICT profession and the guardian of professional ethics and standards in the ICT industry, with a commitment to the wider community to ensure the beneficial use of ICT.

AUSTRALIAN INFORMATION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (AIIA)

AIIA is the peak body in Australia for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, AIIA works across many areas to assist the ICT industry to meet its business objectives in corporate and government markets.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE – MELBOURNE CHAPTER

The Melbourne Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) is part of an international not-for-profit professional organisation dedicated to the advancement of project management excellence through professionalism. With more than 500,000 members in over 170 countries, PMI is the leading membership association for the project management profession. PMI is recognized for the advocacy programs conducted with governments, organizations and industries around the world as they recognize and embrace project management to achieve business results. The Melbourne Chapter serves the state of Victoria and was initially formed in 1995 and registered with the PMI on 1st January 1996. The Chapter members are employed across all industries with a majority in the Information Technology and Telecommunications fields. Chapter Vision: To be a forum for excellence in project management that will increase the awareness, effectiveness, and value of professional project management for practitioners and organisations.
