OUR UNIQUE MENTORING PROGRAM

Mentoring is proven to play a crucial role in helping women achieve greater success, higher employee engagement / retention, and increased opportunities.

mentor(SHE:) is a unique annual program, boasting a meticulous mentor and mentee matching process.
In addition, we enhance our participants’ experience with a range of member-only networking & professional development events and educational resources.

Mentees – Learn from high quality industry mentors, gain key skills, and make great industry connections to prepare you for the next stage of your career.
Mentors – Expert and experienced professionals looking to pay it forward, nurture career growth, and elevate gender diversity across STEM industries.

OUR PROGRAM TIMELINE

mentor(SHE:) runs annually each year. Registrations for the next cohort open in October and close in January. The program then kicks off in February, and finishes approx. beginning of December.

WHY DO WE NEED MENTORING FOR WOMEN IN stem?

Mentoring is vital to the success and retention of women working in STEM. We all benefit when someone shows us the ropes and sponsors us for new opportunities.

With only 28% of women in the STEM sector (compared to 44% in other industries) mentoring offers a solution to help women overcome barriers to a successful and fulfilling career.

Women 4 STEM created mentor(SHE:) to support the retention of women working in the STEM sector. We want to create an accessible one on one environment to allow women to build confidence, provide networking opportunities, and facilitate professional development.

As part of Women 4 STEM, the mentor(SHE:) program is fully operated and run by volunteers. Our team is made up of passionate leaders who want to see a balanced workforce and give up their time to commit to the program.
