The ‘Importance of Women’ (IOW) series is a networking speaker event for our Women 4 STEM members and their guests, where we ask inspiring women and men in STEM fields, to share their experiences about the job they do now, how they got to where they are, the challenges they faced, the pitfalls they experienced along the way and the successes celebrated.

The series is designed to give our members and guests the opportunity to:

• Meet people and expand their network
• Gain an understanding of what is possible
• Get ideas on how to progress their career
• Consider different career opportunities and alternatives
• Hear real life experiences on how to deal with some of the challenges that face women in the workforce
• Gain different and/or new perspectives on the STEM Industries
